    calculation of voltage drop & current carrying capacity for power cable

      Dear Unknown,
      Current capacity formulas of power cables are provided in IEC 60287, many of factors considered in current calculation which is very complicate to derive. so you can select current values from IS:3961 Part-X for different type of cable, which is free available in internet.

      Voltage drop calculations:
      V=sqrt(3)*I*Z..............(in volts) for 3phase
      V=2*I*Z....................(in volts) for single phase

      where, I=Load current in Amps
      Z= impedance of cables in ohm/km
